Who is Giulia?

Step by step into my life

I was only four years old when I learned to read and write. I vividly remember the days in kindergarten when I was placed in the middle of the class to read fairy tales to the other children—experiences that had a profoundly negative impact on me. I didn’t seek praise or admiration; I simply wanted to be treated like everyone else. But why couldn’t that happen? My mind quickly answered: there was no space for me, so I had to grow up, stop relying on others, and take care of myself.

Soon enough, I became an obedient, precise, and meticulous child who achieved success in school but felt deeply lonely.

It wasn’t easy to feel at ease. I was too much for everyone—too serious, too insecure, too good, perhaps even too different. I was all or nothing, but never quite enough. This led me into young adulthood, where life became, above all, an endless search for a place where I could truly feel at home.

"When I grow up, I want to be... "

I was only 4 years old when I learned to read and write; I remember the days in kindergarten where I was put in the middle of the class to read fairy tales to other children, days that had tremendously negative effects on me. I didn’t want to be appreciated and admired, I just wanted to be treated like everyone else. But why wasn’t it possible? My brain answered quickly: there was no room for me, so I had to grow up, not need anyone and take care of my things. Promptly, I became an obedient, precise and careful child who collected successes in school but felt very lonely.

It was not easy to be comfortable. I was too much for everyone: too serious, too insecure, too good, maybe too different. I was all or nothing, but never adequate. This led me to a young adult existence that was, more than anything else, an endless journey in search of a place where I could really feel at home.

But this journey has come at a cost. I had to let go of others’ expectations and build a self-esteem strong enough to endure every challenge. I faced the voices that tried to limit me and began to build my life, piece by piece. Then the decisive moment came: I chose to turn the page and write my own chapter. I decided to leave behind the life others had planned for me and start forging my own path. I began building my community, traveling, and, at last, embracing freedom.

The day everything changed

It wasn’t easy; I earned every inch of this success because I wasn’t one of the favorites, and I didn’t have the typical traits that might have guaranteed success.

So, how was it possible? What was the secret? For me, the answer is simple: before any talent, I had an extraordinary willpower and dedication. I invested effort in every step, in every decision.

And I know that, as a woman, you’ll often have to fight harder than others. Your reward will come from how willing you are to tear down the labels that have been placed on you. You don’t have to be the one who always obeys, who tries not to disappoint, who agrees to stay silent. You need to be the one who has the courage to boldly say what she wants, the one who stands up and refuses to compromise—even when it comes to her dreams.

Imagine being the person you wished you had by your side as a child. Close your eyes, go back to when you were just one year old. Picture yourself as an adult, taking that little girl by the hand and teaching her how to take her first steps.

Now, do the same for the woman you are today. It’s time to hold your own hand, stop looking back, and take yourself where you truly deserve to be.

My key to success

"Watch each other’s back"

This has always been my slogan, no matter how far apart we are and no matter the cultural differences. The vision we share and our ambitions make our bond solid: wherever you go, wherever you stretch your hand, you will always find mine.

It is not just about language or technique, nor is it just about possessing the special ingredient to succeed.

No. It is about taking action even when you feel imperfect, finding the courage, saying an extra yes when it would be easier to back out.

That's the attitude, yes, that's really the ingredient that makes the difference.

My classes

In March 2024, I received a message from one of my team member, who had attended FIU years before. She texted me: 'Giulia, FIU has a department dedicated to students who want to launch their own startups and is always looking for professionals to hold classes. Of course, there’s an interview process. What do you think?'

With a mix of risk and excitement, I found myself on a flight to Miami the very next day. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I knew one thing: I didn’t want to live with regrets. In March 2024, I held my first class.

During those months, I had also been learning Spanish out of pure curiosity. And then, when I least expected it, a second opportunity arrived: a class for first-year Business Communication students at CEU, the private university Cardenal Herrera in Valencia. This time, however, the challenge was much bigger. To be selected, I had to deliver a one-hour lesson in Spanish. (Keep in mind: I was still learning on apps.) With my heart racing, just a few days later, I found myself at CEU.
